The Beauty Justice Act: Due to racist beauty standards and target marketing, people of color are exposed to disproportionately higher levels of toxic chemicals in personal care products. The GAP Fund: Low-income households often face the biggest barriers to energy efficiency, weatherization, and electrification. As such, basic energy upgrades that make homes more affordable, comfortable, and healthy can be cost-prohibitive for these households. New York State’s Green Affordable Pre-Electrification (GAP) Fund would provide funding and technical assistance to enable these homes to make a wide-range of retrofits that are necessary for healthy buildings and the achievement of the State’s climate mandates.
